We have a meadow behind the house that I want to be able to mow. But about half of it is a hill. And about half of the hill is really really steep--so steep that it's hard to walk on without falling. I am wondering if there is any way to mow the grass on the steep part of the hill--is there a special way to use the scythe to do this? Or a different kind of blade or handle you would use?

What you need to do is strike a balance between feeling like you are going to fall down the hill forwards , and feeling like you are going to fall down the hill sideways. You need to approach it as much as possible in a diagonal fashion, but make sure you are always pushing the grass downhill. It’s very heavy to push uphill.
